The One Interview Answer That Gets You Hired

by Work Her Way Expert Contributor Laura Browne

When I was looking to hire an assistant a few years ago, I asked all the candidates the same typical question, “Why should I hire you?”

One candidate surprised me with her fabulous answer and it convinced me that I should hire her. I’ve shared this answer with other hiring managers since then and their response has been overwhelmingly positive. I want to show you how you can use this answer in your next interview to get hired.

Her answer was, “I will make your job easier”. It was a simple statement that I had never heard before in an interview. She went on to explain what she would do to help me do my job and I hired her. I have to add that she has in fact made my job much easier.

For example, will you just focus on your pet projects, fight their ideas, or make them spend time dealing with problems that you cause with other team members?
