Education and Work Experience:
Education: Graduation from an accredited University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business.
Completion of either the CPA or CMA certificate. Current certification is required for the duration of employment.
Work/Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managerial accounting and supervisory experience and the ability to serve as a member of a leadership team.
Scope of Position: The Divisional Finance Director (DFD) oversees the financial affairs and accounting of The Salvation Army Cascade Division. The DFD gives leadership and supervision to the Finance Department and is responsible for accounting, planning and reporting for the approximately 35 units within the Cascade Division. The DFD is a member of the leadership team and will help to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The DFD is the assets custodian of the Division and is responsible for all aspects of financial management and accounting including but not limited to:
Physical Requirements:
This position requires long periods of sitting at a desk using a personal computer with screen monitor and telephone.
May be required to lift, move or carry materials up to 25 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, hand, or feel objects, tools, or controls; to talk or hear; reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
Must be able to comprehend assignments and/or ask for additional information or clarification until the assignment is understood.
Ability to operate telephone, desktop and laptop computer, copiers, scanner, fax, and other standard office machines.
Working Conditions:
The employee will work on many projects at once with interruptions and noise from ringing telephones, printers, copiers, and walk-in traffic. The position meets multiple, constant, rigid deadlines, and competing/changing priorities. There will be phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds who may be angry, hostile, confused, or frustrated.
The position requires the mental aptitude to organize projects, set priorities, calculate, catalogue, inspect, analyze plans, comprehend, and cooperate with others, & etc.
The employee works with minimum supervision and the work involves a high degree of independence. May be required to make independent decisions that may involve unique or unusual situations and/or complex issues and dealing with demanding requests and/or timelines.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Occasionally travels overnight and out-of-state. Must be able to travel by air transportation.
Schedule:
With the supervisor’s approval, the DFD will establish a standard workweek taking into consideration the essential duties of this position, the mission of the department, and of the Salvation Army. The work of exempt employees is not measured solely by hours worked. Employees in exempt positions are expected to work the hours necessary to complete assignments on a schedule that satisfies the requirements of the job. A full-time commitment typically requires a minimum of 80 hours per bi-weekly pay period.
