PROJECT DONE:
The project done was To isolate Camptothecin from Nothapodytes nimmoniana plant obtained from different locations of the Western Ghats & compare the yield of active molecule using well established protocol. The aim of the project was isolation of Camptothecin from Nothapodytes nimmoniana plant obtained from two different locations of western ghats. The extracts were obtained by Soxhlet extraction and Cold maceration. The presence of alkaloids in the extracts was detected by alkaloid testing. The in vitro cytotoxic activity of the extract obtained was determined by MTT assay against Vero cell line. The project was successful.

Nature of duties
a) I have taken training in all the three sections of quality control dept. that is microbiological dept., instrument dept. and chemical dept. The instruments I operated were HPLC, U.V Visible Spectrophotometer, Spectrum BX-FTIR, Disintegration test apparatus and pH meter.
b) I have done bioassay of Vitamin B and antibiotic Gentamycin.
