The candidate will be responsible for identifying new client opportunities and marketing products that address the specific needs of Securities Financing clients.

  • The individual is expected to manage the sales process from identifying the opportunity through to execution of the sale and ongoing relationship growth
  • Grow deep and broad customer relationships to enhance the HSBC franchise and generate value added business
  • Build and maintain business relationships with clients to grow existing relationships
  • Support growth in sales, market share and profitability of the Securities Financing business, with a focus primarily on Alternatives Managers based in the Americas.  The individual is to be a revenue generator and ultimate contributor to the bottom line. 
  • The candidate needs to be creative, persistent and constructive in finding ways to bring new revenue opportunities to Securities Financing.  The candidate must be eager to work with other parts of HSBC to find ways to penetrate the targeted client base.  The candidate will need to have a robust understanding of Prime Brokerage including but not limited to: 1) Cash Prime Brokerage [specifically Arranged Financing / Enhanced Leverage] 2) Synthetic Financing 3) Stock Lending 4) Market Access 5) Repo Financing  6) Cash Equities, Futures and Equity Derivatives
  • The Candidate is expected to provide regular insight as to what is required for the further development of the HSBC’s Securities Financing business.  The candidate will be involved in new product initiatives and the ongoing build of the Securities Financing business and growth of the Platforms business.
  • The candidate is expected to have a strong understanding of the alternatives industry in the Americas.

Qualifications

 
  • Operate in an ethical way and demonstrate sound judgment
  • Fully understand regulatory environment and internal controls
  • 10years+ in financial & client facing experience at an established investment bank or similar
  • Have a proven ability to network amongst the Alternatives Industry and various third-party service providers and Investors within the Alternatives community
  • Have a proven ability to effectively communicate with Senior Management within Global Markets & Securities Services; specifically, around new client opportunities
  • Have a proven ability to monetize relationships
