As a member of the newly created Operations Projects and Asset Management Unit, you will help lead the development and implementation of the newly-initiated asset management program, which includes progress reporting, benefits tracking and benchmarking of asset management practices and concepts; perform technical duties related to condition assessment, data collection and management, asset performance analytics, risk management, asset life cycle management, and project prioritization for Metropolitan’s infrastructure assets; and function as a key leader in assisting with change management activities with managers and staff related to the roll-out of the Asset Management Program.

You will represent the Water System Operations Group to support development, mangement, coordination and acceptance of multiple or multi-year Capital Improvement Projects and Operations Projects. This will involve contact outside of Metropolitan, and will be of moderate to high visibility and sensitivity to Metropolitan in the area of its core business initiatives.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of increasingly responsible experience, of which two years must have been at the Engineer level.

Responsible Experience is defined as: engineering work experience with Infrastructure Asset Management (at least 2 years) and engineering project management & project delivery work experience


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):

  • Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
  • License in good standing as a California Professional Engineer (required at time of application)


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Institute of Asset Management Certification
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Certification
  • Continuing education in asset management
