As the Assistant Engineer II, you will assist in coordinating, researching, analyzing, and recommending water operations and resource management through various reports, projects, and studies. You will assist in overall operational planning and system optimization. This includes water demand forecasting, data management, water distribution system modeling and analysis, development and implementation of water resource management and operating strategies, monitoring and analysis of water supply and operations. You will also assist in data acquisition, processing, analysis, and interpretation. You will also support various studies; prepare technical memoranda, reports, associated graphics, and presentations.
You will work independently and/or with existing teams; you must communicate clearly and consistently, both verbally and in writing; and be proficient using computers, MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access), and analysis tools.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Assistant Engineer I level.
Related field is defined as: Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degrees
Relevant Experience is defined as: experience within the water/wastewater field or water resources; experience with short and long-term planning related to water demand forecasting; data management and analysis; experience with hydraulic or distribution system modeling.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
