In this intermediate level position, you will be responsible for assisting in water supply program development with a focus on Metropolitan’s Local Resources Program, which will include reviewing program applications, conducting annual assessments and reconciliations, and communicating with member agency staff. You will focus on the implementation of water supply purchases, groundwater storage programs, water exchanges and funding programs for water recycling and groundwater recovery projects. You will also be involved in many facets of water resource planning, including assisting in the preparation of cost assessments, reconciliations, and maintaining program data. You will work under close supervision, and assist in the management of existing water supply and Local Resources Programs.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience; or two years in a MWD Assistant Resource Specialist I classification.

Relevant Experience is defined as: experience related to water supply programs that would include water recycling, groundwater treatment, water transfers, and/or groundwater storage programs. Experience with Microsoft Office suites, along with statistics, and/or economics.

Required Skills and Abilities to: Problem solve; prioritize and multi-task; communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; work independently and in a team environment; and operate current office equipment including computers and supporting applications.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
