The Tippie College of Business Undergraduate Program Office is seeking an Assistant Director of Academic Success Initiatives. Core position responsibilities include advising students on academic issues and participating in the administration of policies, programs, and procedures related to undergraduate students in the Tippie College of Business. Programming focus includes development of outreach to the pre-business population and coordination of tutoring and academic success programs for first and second year students. Responsibilities will require some time outside the 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. work day. Salary is $42,000 to commensurate. Five references will be requested at a later point in the search. 

Required qualifications include: a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; typically one to three years in higher education academic advising or student academic support services. Expert knowledge of and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; working knowledge of and experience in program management and/or event planning and execution; demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a student service focus. Desired qualifications: Master’s degree in student affairs, business, or a related field; working knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures related to undergraduate students; higher education experience in any of the following: orientation, academic support and advising, or student success; experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and supporting their retention.
