Job Description:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and managing new and existing customer relationships, as well as leading future business development activities, targeting the areas of SIGINT, Cyber/IW, Ground EW, Special Communications and Command & Control.  Responsibilities also include establishing and building close Customer affinity to identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities within Army organizations. Activities include business opportunity identification, opportunity qualification, business capture strategy development, and tactical business capture planning and execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development and client management efforts within a customer focus area including initiating calls to prospective clients, preparing capability briefings and information packets, conducting client meetings to uncover, create opportunities that lead to new business and expand relationships.
  • Lead BD/Capture activities to identify, qualify and create new business opportunities. 
  • Manage preparation and distribution of program information sheets, brochures and capability briefings. 
  • Assist in setting pricing based on scope, duration, and skills required. 
  • Prepare and deliver white papers and proposals that address customer requirements. 
  • Working with project management, facilitate customer kick-off meetings, client status meetings, and quarterly business reviews. 
  • Work with company program managers to identify and pursue follow-on opportunities. 
  • Work with company management to establish a budget for the business/functional area.
  • Serve as the customer advocate during reviews to bring the voice of the customer into planning and strategy sessions. 
  • Attend workshops, trade shows, and seminars to maintain deep understanding of market segment and customer environment. 
  • Utilize CRM and opportunity funnel tools to develop and execute customer engagement and capture execution. 
  • Other BD and supervisory related duties as assigned. 
  • Travel as required; up to 50%.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree. 
  • Minimum of 5+ years of successful business development experience, demonstrating ability to create, identify, qualify, and win new business opportunities. 
  • Experience leading BD/Capture efforts for DoD contracts, including: strategy development, overall business development, and proven ability to close and win business.
  • Experience as a SIGINT, Communications or Intelligence Officer with a strong understanding of the DoD Electronic Warfare Domain. Experience with DoD Capability Development Process (JCIDS, PPBES, Acquisition). 
  • Requires industry knowledge and established relationships with the Army. 
  • Experience in readiness and sustainment of government system acquisition and lifecycle management.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills to support new customer relationship development.
  • Must possess very strong presentation, oral and written communications skills. 
  • Must demonstrate skills in communicating technical information to non-technical and technical customers, as well as how core technologies translate into customers’ critical capabilities.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in Engineering or Business. 
  • Previous military experience in the Army organizations. 
  • Direct experience as a User, Developer, Resource Sponsor, or Program Manager.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Products to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project. 
  • Secret Clearance (Top Secret preferred).
