The incumbent serves as the Director of the Security Threat Assessment Operations Division, Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). You will lead and manage the division and be responsible for the end-to-end security threat assessment operations business processes and capabilities necessary to support programs and functional capabilities. You will also be accountable for support to on-going (24 x 7) operations to fulfill the mission of conducting person-centric threat assessments and identifying individuals who have been identified as posing a threat to the transportation system by virtue of their terrorism nexus, criminality, or immigration status.
Managerial responsibilities include directing the work of employees responsible for people screening operations. You will be responsible for conducting data analysis, trends, and associated reports and for the operational support to multiple 24x7 centers, overseeing the operation of all manual adjudication and security threat assessments, as well as participating in the transportation security crises and incident management. This position may require occasional shift work.

To qualify for the SV-L Pay Band, you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-K Pay Band or GS-15 in the Federal service or equivalent experience state or local government or the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes performing time sensitive analysis and decision making, risk management based reporting related to the counterterrorism mission of conducting person-centric threat assessments, and identifying individuals who may pose a threat to the transportation system by virtue of their terrorism nexus, criminality, or immigration status.
National Service Experience (i.e., Volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
