This Financial Specialist position is located in the Finance and Budget Branch, Business Management Office (BMO) within the Office of Information Technology (OIT), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected for this position, you will resolve financial and management problems typically requiring extensive analysis of key TSA programs that often impact multiple TSA line offices and the transportation industry. You will plan, analyze, determine cost/benefit relationships, and coordinate a great variety of functions, operations, teams, or interfacing administrative systems. To qualify for the SV-J Pay Band (equivalent to GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-I Pay Band or GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as: 1.)designing or updating financial programs utilizing new and changing financial regulations, or management standards; AND 2.) analyzing, evaluating, and developing budget resource and program documents to monitor spend plans; AND 3.) applying business and management principles to support organizational operations (e.g., strategic planning, resource allocation, coordination of people and resources).
NOTE: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour work week. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
