ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN III (MAXIMO)
Metropolitan Water District's Water System Operations Group, Operations Support Services Section currently has one (1) opening for an Engineering Technician III within the Maintenance Engineering Team of the Power and Equipment Reliability Unit. This position is located at our Weymouth Treatment Plant in La Verne, CA.
This is an intermediate level engineering technician position to ensure functionality of MWD's CMMS program (Maximo) within the organization. This position requires basic understanding of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL language for report development and Maximo support. The work also requires the use and support of mobile technology for creating PM/CM work orders, asset data collection, failure code reporting, time reporting and capturing condition monitoring data for CBM / PdM based work such as vibration monitoring, oil analysis or other diagnostic information used to track the condition of equipment. In addition, this position will also support users at all levels by training, troubleshooting issues related to Maximo, support mobile devices and mobile application software for Maximo as well as other maintenance related technologies used with the Maximo database.
JOB DUTIES
1. May develop technical training materials for area of responsibility.
2. Conducts analyses and investigations of technical issues, prepares reports and makes recommendations.
3. Conducts technical studies, tests, inspections, and research for area of responsibility.
4. Develops, prepares, and delivers presentations.
5. May represent Metropolitan within area of responsibility to obtain or convey information and resolve issues.
6. May develop and administer contracts and agreements; oversees the work of vendors, consultants and contractors.
7. May serve on a project team.
8. Develops, and maintains databases within area of responsibility.
9. Develops and updates of standards, procedures, guidelines, and manuals.
10. May provide emergency response within area of responsibility.
11. Performs other related Engineering Technician job duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education development test (GED), and two years of accredited college or university in engineering and six years of relevant experience, two years of which must have been at the Engineering Technician II level.

Relevant experience is defined as 2 years' experience in Maximo training / troubleshooting experience. 1 year experience in developing Maximo reports using Birt or Actuate. 1 years' experience with mobile application software with Maximo interface. 2 years' of cumulative experience in: Maintaining, developing and implementing standard maintenance processes, strategies, and metrics for maintenance decisions or assisting with maintaining data bases and analyzing / trending data related to vibration analysis on rotating equipment or a combination of both.


Required Knowledge of: Practical application of engineering science and technology; arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and their applications; applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations; design principles and techniques; project management; construction means and methods; facility planning; technical research, analysis and report preparation; applicable safety practices; and current office equipment and technology.
