Position Description:

The Civil/CAD Designer will work in a multi-discipline team environment contributing to the production of site, grading, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, and subdivision land development plans.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret ordinance requirements
  • Interact with design team members within and outside of G & A
  • Assist in preparation of site, grading, erosion control, stormwater management and site layout plans
  • Effectively manage own time and avoid distractions
  • Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond to difficult situations and compressed time frames
  • Participate on teams involved with multiple projects
  • Report pertinent progress information to Department Head in an organized manor Essential Qualifications:
  •  
  • 2-5 years of experience with the subdivision/land development approval process in Pennsylvania
  • Proficient in design and CAD modeling using AutoCAD Civil 3D software (2010 or later)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with EIT or ability to take the FE exam within 6 months (preferred) Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  •  
  • Organized and detailed oriented with proactive approach to work responsibilities
  • Ability to compose letters and transmittals
  • Experience with the Land Development permitting process in Pennsylvania
  • Ability to interact with township officials & professionals, DEP, PennDOT and Conservation Districts
  • Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and honesty
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a project team
  • Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and hydraulics/hydrology software a plusEssential Position Requirements:

  • Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required
