Specific Information Technology responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: supporting day-to-day 7X24hr operation of manufacturing automation applications and systems; monitoring systems to ensure smooth operations adhering to standards and policies; maintaining application availability, documenting and implementing automated scripts and reports. Supporting users in the operation of various HMI applications.

 

  • Provide daily support with resolution of escalated tickets and act as liaison to manufacturing, engineering department, and IT infrastructure to ensure issues are resolved in timely manner
  • Provides on-going application support of plant automation systems, diagnose and solve software problems serving as a liaison between business department and software provider, including troubleshooting SCADA and HMI applications
  • Provide initial and ongoing training on designated system and software programs to colleagues
  • Provide project support by actively engaging in assigned tasks to ensure timely completion
  • Coordinate with application provider to successfully deploy software releases for testing and production environments while adhering to accepted system development lifecycles
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills required, ability to work individually or within a group
  • Strong knowledge of GE Cimplicity, Rockwell Automation, or Wonderware / Inbatch recipe and other automations applications
  • Test new software and make solutions recommendations to manufacturing and IT management.
  • Coordinate and maintain software patch levels including testing up to and including UAT and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing)
  • Oversees all application maintenance and upgrades to manufacturing systems
  • Experience in WAN, LAN, wireless based computing environments. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to support an industrial plant automation environment
  • Strong professional presence, good customer service skills and business acumen
  • Experienced in hardware and software solutions for hazardous classified environment systems in a manufacturing setting including design, testing and implementation
  • Strong technical documentation background required, including document management and version control
  • Ability to quickly receive and process information and make appropriate decisions
  • Ability to manage workload and multitask in a process manufacturing environment

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or 4 year equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in application support related to manufacturing automation
  • Knowledge of VM management configurations and virtual computing environments
  • Working database knowledge including the ability to update tables in (MSSQL, MySQL,)
  • Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office/Windows applications, including Visio, Project, and SharePoint
  • Detailed understanding of operating systems related to industrial controls
  • Experienced in integration of enterprise applications
  • Knowledge of manufacturing automation processes and products strongly preferred
  • Experience in planning and execution of enterprise based plant automation networked solutions in the Information Technology field with the ability to design, install and maintain GE and/or Rockwell based automation systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC) is a plus
  • ITIL foundation practices, certification is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
