The Business Warehouse Senior Analyst will deliver BW initiatives/projects for Benjamin Moore & Co. and will provide technical and business expertise in terms of solution development and implementation in terms of data warehousing, data transport mechanisms (ETL, ELT, etc.), data quality, security and other data management areas.

The role responsibilities include business requirements analysis, solution design, program development and unit testing, quality testing, UAT coordination and overall day-to-day issues/support management and system monitoring, which may include coordination with an offshore development team and system support. This role functions within a matrix organization and will primarily interface with the Business Intelligence, Enterprise Architecture, ERP, PMO and Infrastructure groups to deliver these initiatives.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Design, build and test BW objects such as InfoObjects, InfoCubes, InfoSources/Data Sources, Master Data, Transfer Rules and Transformations, Update Rules, ODS, Extractors, Infosets, Aggregates, Process Chain and User Exits
  • Extract data from SAP and non-SAP data sources using BODS and Informatica
  • Independently work and support key toolsets such as BEx Analyzer, Query Designer, Web App Designer, Web Intelligence, BO Explorer, BO MS Analysis and BO Dashboards
  • Must be familiar with building Business Objects dashboards and reports using BO Dashboards, Web Intelligence, MS Analysis, Analyzer and Crystal Reports
  • Performance tuning for high volume and complex transformation scenarios
  • Develop and execute advanced data profiling, data validation scenarios
  • Adhere to BI/BW best practices and standards to maintain a stable Business Information environment
  • Monitor BW loads, communicate and troubleshoot issues with data integrity, data design, and functional and technical software issues
  • Perform routine program modifications, performance tuning, problem solving, debugging, and unit testing
  • Maintain BW structures and support for ETL processes for data feeding in and out of BW
  • Design data structures to optimize data load times and end-user data access response times
  • Design processes to minimize data quality risks and proactively identify potential data issues
  • Perform analysis and design; write technical specifications; configuration and programming in the SAP/BI environment, including testing and implementation
  • Prepare project related documentation (functional design, technical design, test scripts) during the different stages of a project

 

 

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required

Experience

  • Must have completed a minimum of three full lifecycle implementations in BW 
  • Minimum 3 to 5 plus years of technical experience with SAP BI/BW. Experience in BW 7.3 and higher preferred
  • Proven experience in BW on HANA preferred
  • Minimum 3 plus years of experience with the Business Objects suite of products (Including 4.x experience)
  • Solid working knowledge of the Information Design Tool and the Central Management Console
  • Knowledge of configuration of BW data objects including InfoObjects, InfoSources, Transformations, ODS, Cubes, Info Providers and multi providers
  • Familiarity with building Business Objects dashboards and reports using BO Dashboards, Web Intelligence, MS Analysis, Analyzer and Crystal Reports
  • Experience with BI/BW Upgrade projects
  • Knowledge of extractors for the following functional areas: SD, FI/CO, PP, MM, QM, PM; Project Systems
  • Extensive experience in reconciling ECC data with BW data
  • Knowledge of ABAP and SAP query development a plus
  • Experience in pulling data from non-SAP systems into BW
  • Experience in loading historical data into BW

Other Key Qualities and Skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and practices
  • Demonstrated understanding of the functions of a data warehouse in the corporate environment
  • Demonstrated understanding data warehousing processes, such as dimensional data modeling and data acquisition methodologies, data staging, cleansing, and transformation
  • Proven track record of developing and managing ETL and DW deliverables
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong process orientation with significant attention to detail
  • Effective interpersonal skills with ability to participate in and lead "Virtual" teams
  • Knowledge of relational databases, data warehousing, business intelligence and CRM tools
  • Experience in working in an aggressive timeline
