As an Associate Security Specialist (District Temporary) you will be responsible for ensuring the protection of Metropolitan assets, employees, and visitors. Metropolitan’s Diemer Water Treatment Plant in Yorba Linda, California will be your primary work location. You will also have protective duties in other areas within Orange and Los Angeles counties. You will be relied upon as a subject matter expert in the security disciplines of physical security (large scale infrastructure protection), investigations, and loss prevention. You will lead regular, temporary, and contract security workers at various facilities as you coordinate and review work assignments on a day-to-day basis.

In this position you will be required to demonstrate your capability to respond to pressing and demanding situations; perform well under pressure; serve as the agent on call for 24 hours (standby duty) on a rotational basis; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and exercise good judgment under demanding situations.

This is a District Temporary position anticipated to last up to 18 months. You must report in-person to Metropolitan's Diemer Facility in Yorba Linda, California on your scheduled work days.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency and nine years of relevant experience; or an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and seven years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and five years of relevant experience.

Relevant Experience is defined as: working experience performing investigations; or working as professional security or law enforcement with a role directly related to providing large scale infrastructure protection.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

Desirable Qualifications
• State licensing as a Private Investigator
• Valid Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
