As an Administrative Assistant III (Equal Employment Opportunity) you will provide a high level of support, monitor the activities of, and provide primary administrative assistance to the EEO Officer and EEO Office.


Your responsibilities will including but are not limited to: scheduling and calendaring meetings and appointments; assisting with the investigative process by scheduling interviews, sending correspondence, uploading data in the case database system and preparing reports that track progress; formatting and creating basic spreadsheets; filing and scanning confidential documents, records and reports; extracting information from a variety of sources and compiling information for periodic and special reports; reviewing and processing invoices; compiling budgetary information, monitoring expenditures, etc.; assisting with timekeeping, contracts and other assignments; and working cooperatively with staff throughout Metropolitan. Other responsibilities may include preparing, formatting, proofreading, and distributing meeting materials.


You must use discretion, initiative, and judgment in providing support on time-sensitive assignments and routine handling of confidential information. The ability to build strong working relationships, collaborate and communicate effectively, and being attentive to detail and highly organized is extremely important.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:A high school diploma or high school equivalency and six years of relevant experience; or Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience; or two years in a MWD Administrative Assistant II classification.


Relevant Experience is defined as: administrative work experience that required maintaining confidentiality, scheduling meetings, and maintaining a database system related to sensitive personnel issues.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):
Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
