As an Administrative Assistant I you will perform a variety of administrative duties in support of the Business Support Team at the Gene Pumping Plant. You will be required to: purchase materials and supplies using a procurement card; assist purchasing coordinator with blanket agreements, master contracts and service agreements, which involves processing requisitions and releases for chemicals, materials, services and supplies; serve as back-up Training Coordinator and Timekeeper; maintain unit calendars and the employee emergency contact database; maintain sensitive information and files; assist pool car reservations; process Travel Expense Reporting requests and expense reports; monitor, order and maintain office supplies; answer phones and route calls; receive and distribute mail; coordinate facility events and meetings; and proctor onsite apprentice testing.

Within this role you must be able to organize and complete your assigned work activities by their deadlines while providing effective customer service to those you support. The ability to build strong working relationships; collaborate and communicate effectively; and be attentive to detail is extremely important.

While the assigned work location is the Gene Pumping Plant, you will be required to provide administrative assistance to 12 Desert Metropolitan teams stationed at multiple facilities.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate and four years of relevant experience; or associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience; or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.


Relevant Experience is defined as: administrative work experience

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
