The Gene Pumping Facility has an opening for an Instrumentation & Control Technician II.

As an Instrumentation & Technician II you will assist journey level technicians on projects, special assignments, and equipment and system modifications. You will assist in: performing routine maintenance, installing complex digital and analog control systems, performing technical electronic, laboratory and field analysis, and repairing and modifying electronic instrumentation and control systems.

Additionally you will assist in: performing preventative and corrective maintenance tasks at the Desert Region Pumping Plants, and area facilities and the installing, maintaining and repairing of industrial electronic/electrical control panels and repairs to the component/module level, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) based control systems and associated peripherals, electronic/electrical equipment, including pressure transducers, acoustic and magnetic flow meters, electric actuated control valves, tank level gauging systems, and water quality instrumentation, including turbidimeters, chlorine analyzers, and other related instruments, and communications systems (RF, LAN, WAN, telephone and fiber optic cabling).

The work schedule is a modified 4/10.

ELECTRONICS FROM AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY, VOCATIONAL, OR MILITARY SCHOOL WILL NEED TO BE PROVIDED.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education development test (GED), completion of 40 semester units in electronics from an accredited college, university, vocational, or military school AND two years relevant experience; OR

Two years as an Instrumentation and Control Technician I.

Relevant Experience is defined as: Troubleshoot electrical/electronic equipment, calibrate electrical/electronic equipment and/or maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing, and registrations:

License(s):
Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

  • Manlift
  • Successful completion of the Controls Systems Technician Associate Recognition Program from the Instrumentation Society of America

Vision Requirements: Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
