What You Will Do:

The firm is currently recruiting for a Conflicts Attorney for either the Roseland or New York office.  This position will be responsible for the review, analysis, and resolution of potential conflicts of interest with respect to lateral attorney candidates and new business intake.  This position will work closely with the Office of the General Counsel, the Conflicts Department, Talent Acquisition Department, firm management, attorneys, and other administrative departments.

 

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Identify and resolve conflicts of interest associated with the admission of lateral candidates and with new business intakes;
  • Review information provided by candidates in response to lateral attorney questionnaires and/or other documents related to prior employment;
  • Communicate with lateral candidates regarding the needs for complete and accurate client and related parties information and distinguishing between portable and non-portable business;
  • Arrange for conflict searches to be performed to determine whether the admission of lateral candidates will create conflicts of interest;
  • Analyze and summarize conflict search reports to identify actual and potential conflicts of interest associated with the admission of candidates and new business intakes;
  • Work with candidates and responsible LS attorneys to determine whether conflicts of interest exist and, if so, whether they can be resolved pursuant to ethics rules, ethics opinions and case law in the applicable jurisdictions;

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • JD required
  • Minimum 2 years’ conflict of interest experience in a law firm
  • Familiarity with Intapp Open preferred
  • Knowledge of laws, Rules of Professional Conduct, and risk management requirements governing conflicts of interest and conflicts resolution processes
  • Experience doing legal and corporate affiliation research
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills

Office Location: Roseland, NJ

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
