Agile Programme Management Office (APMO) roles work in scope of a variety of sizes, which are single or multiple work stream, have country or global dimension, and be of both narrow and broad scope. The principal responsibility of the APMO role is to manage the Agile Programme Management Office, helping to deliver monitoring, governance and reporting activities.

 

APMO role holders will hold most or all of these responsibilities:

  • Management and monitoring of delivery governance arrangements
    • Understands and administers delivery goveranance per processes
  • Planning and overseeing delivery execution reporting
    • Ensures enough time is planned for required reviews with regards to execution reporting
    • Produces iterations reporting a week after iteration reviews are completed as required as input into governance reporting cycles
  • Monitor, report and manage budgets and expenditure
    • Monitors and reports clarity actuals weekly for appropriate budget management
    • Escalates and implements corrective actions prior to month end financial reporting cycle
    • Updates GPDM with actuals and reforecasts aligned to global cycle
  • Implement Agile standards across deliveries
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Manages and strikes a balance between local and global requirements; even when requirements are not aligned or contradictory
  • Responsible for developmental activity for junior team members
  • Risk and issue monitoring and escalation
    • Proactively measures and monitors risks at the detailed and the portfolio level
    • Ensures escalation happens as early as required; and no issue due dates are missed
  • Undertakes Quality Assurance (QA) checks throughout the technology delivery lifecycle and benefits realisation
    • Can both manage and execute the QA checks throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure it’s adherence both at the detailed and the portfolio level
  • Oversee the management of project documentation, process documents and information sources
  • Provides expertise and best practice on agile practices, shares knowledge, lessons learned, templates, advice on tools such as Jira, Agile engineering practices guidance, DevOps practices, asset capitalisation guidanceContributes to the wider technology practice – shares insights from quality assurance and lessons learnt as to where the group lacks consistency

Qualifications

 
  • Proven experience in driving programs through Agile and scrum methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Sharepoints, MS Office tools, GPDM, HIBS, Hermit, Clarity
  • SAFe certified in an introductory course (Leading SAFe and/or SAFe for Teams) and advanced (PO/PM and/or LPM)
