This position performs a variety of duties pertaining to cable and internet modem installations for AFN customers and partner internet service providers (ISP’S) in residential homes, apartments and commercial properties, including assisting in calls for customer service technical support and limited HFC plant extension construction; demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and customer service during installation and connection requests; and performs other work as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform underground and/or aerial duties in construction of system plant and its repair and maintenance as it relates to customer service installation needs; perform technical field work and resolve customer problems; responsibilities include daily completion of service calls, installation of cable modem, home router configuration, and cable TV services, customer relations, problem solving and documentation; responsible for activating and maintaining all equipment required for the delivery of services to customers; respond to, assess and correct customer service problems independently; perform “on call” duties.

Demonstrate a high level of customer service on the phone and during in-home visits; demonstrate exceptional communication conferring with clients to determine the nature of their concerns and requests; perform the necessary work on the most professional and courteous level with attention to detail; exercise respect for the customer’s information, privacy, property, and physical space.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Education:  Completion of High School Education or Equivalent.

Experience:   Must have a minimum one (1) year of experience performing significant portions of the essential job functions as described above; High Speed internet and/or Cable TV installation background; prior experience in pole climbing techniques and knowledge of safety standards; Possession of working knowledge of relevant OSHA Regulations, including 29 CFR 1910.269.

Substitution:  Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the job proficiently may substitute for the above requirements.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: License:  Possession of, or the ability to obtain and retain, an Oregon Class C driver license by the time of appointment.
