This Real Estate Representative II position will assist with real property secondary use and land management assignments.

Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation and processing of leases, licenses, permits, easements, encroachment, trespassing and lease compliance documents as well as reviewing appraisals, negotiating and managing real estate transactions. This position will also assist in performing due diligence activities such as researching and analyzing public records, title reports, drawings, maps and legal descriptions to identify ownership, property condition and property rights. Additional responsibilities include calculating and reconciling rental billings and property assessments.

Applicants at this level must have an understanding of real estate principles and more specifically public agency asset and land management standards of practice. The successful applicant must also demonstrate an understanding of ethical standards for the right-of-way profession.

This Real Estate Representative II position is in the Land Management Unit of the Real Property Group at the Headquarters of Metropolitan Water District in Los Angeles.

Work Schedule: 9/80 Monday through Friday with alternating Fridays off

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience; of which two years must have been at the Real Estate Representative I level.

Relevant experience is defined as assisting with property or land management functions or assisting with acquisition, leasing, disposition, negotiations, and processing of commercial real estate transactions.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:

Licenses

Valid California Class C Driver License or equivalent that allows you to drive in the course of your employment (Required at the time of application)
