Metropolitan's Engineering Services Group has one (1) opening for a Senior Project Controls Specialist in the Project Controls Team of the Capital Program Management Unit. This position is at our Los Angeles headquarters located at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, CA.

This is the advanced journey level position performing a variety of complex analytical and technical duties including scheduling, budgeting, cost analysis and monitoring for a variety of engineering projects. This position will provide technical Primavera scheduling expertise; assist project managers in the development of project authorization documents and budgets for management approval; conduct internal program/project reviews for compliance with project controls standards and processes; support development of internal audit responses; analyze financial and other statistical data to forecast expenditures and resources.

The successful candidate will act as the project controls lead on a wide range of projects. On a part time and/or rotational basis, will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing the Primavera (P6) master schedule for over +350 projects. Ensure schedule/progress management and reporting is in place, accurate, and provided in a timely manner. Develop, enter and maintain Primavera schedule data including project budgets, resources, roles, and the Work Breakdown Structure to ensure data is converted and formatted correctly within project schedules. Collect and analyze project financial data and assist management with resource forecast planning for the Capital Investment Plan. Participate in the development, documentation, and implementation of project controls policies and procedures. Research and analyze project financial data, and prepare reports and documents for management. Work directly with project managers in support of their project controls needs.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience.

Relevant Experience is defined as: experience in project controls of which 4 years must be using Primavera application.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent that allows you to drive during your employment.
