Our new team is looking for collaborative problem solvers who want to dive into something new and create groundbreaking experiences for our customers within the realm of serious gaming. As the lead creative and art director, you will be an influential leadership member of a team focused on creating the core technologies and products that power a new type of gaming-based experience leveraging Microsoft Gaming and Cloud technologies, as well as strategic partnerships. This is a rare opportunity to get in at the beginning and help shape the foundation of a brand new game experience, collaborating with industry leading cloud, game studio and game services leaders across Microsoft. This Initiative has an immediate opening for a visionary Creative/Art Director to build and lead our studio’s art capacity to meet exacting needs. The role needs to be able to clearly communicate and maintain their artistic vision across all art disciplines and align that with project goals and ambitions. We're looking for someone with experience in reality-based scenarios who can bring synthetics to life, drive implementation of the visual vision, define our style guides for UX elements, and set the standards for the future.

 

Responsibilities

 

Define the vision for the art teams consisting of different disciplines and levels of experience
Ability to make a direct contribution to the creation of art visualization through hands on examples
Although part of Microsoft, possess a start-up mentality
Dealing with ambiguity and ability to make decisions with the information you have
Collaborate with Tech, Geo, and Production teams to deliver on key milestones
Oversee creative production of all assets to include maps, game entities, and UX across the product
Oversee and direct 3rd party production of outsourced work
Ability to ensure consistency of vision across all art and game design
Influence the technical and aesthetic processes in order to realize the vision
Understanding of modern games engineering
Excellent communication, time-management and organizational skills
Task driven, self-motivated, proactive
Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities; mentor more junior staff

 

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

6+ years art direction leadership experience across industry leading AAA games or entertainment
Desired Qualifications

Exceptional portfolio that exhibits personal and project artistic accomplishments
Exceptional visual and technical understanding in rendering and asset creation
3+ year of people management experience
Portfolio Submissions

Examples of personal and professional artwork
Examples of understanding of the work flow of concept to creation
Examples of work they directed but did not create

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
