As a key leader of the newly created Operations Projects and Asset Management Unit, you will represent the Water System Operations Group to lead the development, management, coordination, and acceptance of multiple or multi-year Capital Improvement Projects and Operations Projects of large or above-average complexity.

You will: manage, coordinate, and interface with all functional Groups and provide leadership in the development and implementation of the newly-initiated Asset Management Program, which includes progress reporting, benefits tracking and benchmarking of asset management practices and concepts; coordinating activities related to condition assessment, data collection and management, asset performance analytics, risk management, life cycle planning, and project prioritization for Metropolitan’s infrastructure assets; being a key leader in assisting with change management activities with managers and staff related to the roll-out of the Asset Management Program.

Your responsibilities will also include: providing expert advice on modifications to asset management processes and procedures; coordinating for the consistent implementation of asset management process and procedures throughout Metropolitan; evaluating asset-related standards generated in the Unit and determining necessary action to apply such standards within the organization; and overseeing the work necessary to create or update the Strategic Asset Management Plan and the asset management plans for individual asset classes.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, majoring in Business Administration, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Urban Planning, Geology, Geography, Hydrology, or other directly related field, and 8 years of progressively responsible experience in policy development, project management, resource negotiations, and development and implementation of solutions to complex problems related to water resources

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
