As an Associate Engineer on the Special Projects Project Management Team you will perform planning, design, studies, investigations and coordination on capital projects related to special projects within Metropolitan’s Capital Investment Plan. The projects managed by this team are typically, fast-paced infrastructure rehabilitation projects in areas such as but not limited to service connections, paving, and roofing that require innovative project delivery approaches. The work typically includes preparing project managment plans, technical reports, memorandums, correspondences, project schedules & budgets, development of construction specifications, oral presentation, site investigation, inspections, data research and other assignments as required. Work also includes project cocordiantion with Metropolitan design disciplines, Water System Operations Staff, member agencies, contractors and consultants.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level; or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience which must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level.

Related field is defined as: civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering


Relevant Experience is defined as work experience: developing and reviewing engineering designs; planning and coordinating engineering project tasks; or related to infrastructure rehabilitation


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
