The role: Data Product Manager within the Sales Intelligence team, you will be a key contributor to the company’s implementation of a leading-edge data products practice, including building cutting edge analytics solutions. You will make a direct impact on the client experience, delivering innovative data products to help HSBC Bank understand and improve our clients’ experiences and increase their probability of success.

 

Be a data storyteller, deliver practical data insights in a compelling manner to various stakeholders across the Bank. Articulate findings clearly and concisely including presentations, discussions and visualizations. Take a proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow things through. Mindset – Willingness to roll up sleeves and do whatever it takes to build something of significance.

 
Responsibilities include:
  • Analytical thought leader - You can define the analytical agenda for a new product, frame ambiguous business questions into analytical plans (e.g., assess user needs, create new features, evaluate quality, etc.), and execute.
  • Design data solutions that enable our business partners to better understand our clients and prospects. Demonstrated experience bringing a product to market using an Agile approach to development.
  • Ability to communicate business needs to the development team, can articulate value propositions, and are driven by the “why” when creating product roadmaps
  • Take a collaborative approach to problem solving, engage a diverse stakeholder group to work through product ideation to deployment
  • Collaborate with functional leads in Data Engineering, Data Science, and Architecture to build best-in-class research products and services
  • Manage the strategic and tactical decisions for the product to provide product vision clarity
  • Create and manage effective Go to Market strategies to ensure successful adoption of new product offerings
  • Establish and analyze metrics and user feedback to continuously improve the product
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to better facilitate the product decision making process
  • Able to translate ambiguous business problems into a structured, conceptual framework
  • Create and deliver clear, compelling presentations to business partners that demonstrate the power of your analytic solutions
  • Actively contribute to the continuous learning mindset of the organization by bringing in new ideas and perspectives that stretch the thinking of the team
  • Develop presentations to summarize and communicate key messages to senior management sponsors and colleagues
  • Highly motivated, productive, and teamwork oriented
  • Effective communication and presentation skills. Can work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Good management skills (clear goal setting, well-organized, detailed planning, and ability for tight-timeline deliverables). Strong in on-time delivery. Experience in different SDLC tools, including Agile methodology and Design Thinking practices.

  • 5-8 years of proven experience as a product manager, data analyst, business analyst, or similar role

Qualifications

 
  • Bachelors degree in Finance or STEM discipline
  • Product Management experience (preferably in Agile/SCRUM environment) with a strong track record of performance at an individual level
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik Sense, R Shiny, and Looker
  • Experience with search solutions (ElasticSearch, Lucene, Solr, Attivio)
  • Familiar with CI/CD build pipelines and toolchain Jira, Git, Artifactory
  • Experience with software/data solutions that power open application frameworks
  • Familiar with statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms
  • Familiar with potential applications of machine learning, deep learning and its applications
  • Experience influencing teams in a global, cross-functional environment and building rapport with all levels of the organization
  • Experience working within Fintech or a search product is desired
  • Experience and/or education in financial services and, in particular, in commercial banking
