This Senior Engineer position for the Technical Control Team (TCT) is broadly responsible for program management of the Engineering Service Group’s (ESG) various quality and improvement initiatives in support of the Capital Investment Plan. These responsibilities involve some contact outside of MWD with moderate visibility and sensitivity to MWD. Other TCT core business initiatives include running the Value Engineering and Lessons Learned programs, and developing and maintaining engineering standards - all of which involve multiple business groups, engineering disciplines, and entities.

This Senior Engineer will apply professional judgment from his/her mastery of public works project delivery processes, expertise in project management practices, technical knowledge as a professional engineer and strong administrative skills to act in a lead role on the Technical Control Team (TCT).

This Senior Engineer will insightfully and effectively collaborate and communicate to advance ESG’s quality and improvement initiatives to best serve Metropolitan, ensuring the level of service and support provided meet standards and objectives for quality, efficiency, productivity, and technical sophistication and integrity.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of increasingly responsible experience*, of which two years must have been at the Engineer level.

*Responsible Experience is defined as: work in the field of infrastructure engineering with specific experience in project management, design management, or construction management.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

License(s):

• Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

• License in good standing as a California Professional Engineer (required at time of application)
