Within this role you will act as the SCADA technical lead and expert in the design, development, and daily support of Metropolitan's Industrial Control System (ICS) / SCADA communications infrastructure and cybersecurity vulnerability management. Extensive experience with and understanding of the unique requirements of ICS communications and cybersecurity in the SCADA environment is critical.
The Principal Engineering Technician (SCADA) will be responsible for the daily monitoring, isolation and resolution of ICS/SCADA communications issues at water treatment plants and the conveyance and distribution system; remediating cybersecurity vulnerabilities; performing maintenance and enhancing treatment plant and distribution communications systems, implementing vulnerability management and monitoring solutions, and recommending system vulnerability controls to mitigate risks utilizing ICS/SCADA infrastructure best architecture practices and solutions. Qualified applicants will have extensive knowledge of NIST 800-53/800-82 technical security frameworks and DHS defense-in-depth strategies.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and progressively responsible directly related experience in engineering, construction management, or a related field totaling ten years, of which two years must have been at the Senior Engineering Technician level.
Progressively responsible directly related experience is defined as expert level experience with the following:
