The Principal Information Technology Analyst oversees all IT activities related to Water System Operations (WSO). Evaluates IT Work Requests (ITWR) initiated by the WSO group, performs ITWR impact analyses, evaluates work complexity and assigns work to software developers. Performs software design and code walkthroughs. Prepares use cases to be executed by IT QA team and coordinates with other IT teams to ensure appropriate deployment to production.

This individual may function as an IT project manager on complex information technology initiatives. In the role of IT project manager, areas of responsibility include directing project teams; developing schedules, project plans, proposals, budgets, and status reports; applying cost benefit methodologies to monitor progress and success; and managing projects to completion.

This opening for a Principal Information Technology Analyst is in the Enterprise Water Systems Unit of our Information Technology Section at the Weymouth Water Treatment Plant in La Verne, CA.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related) from an accredited college or university and eight years of increasingly responsible experience, of which two years must have been at the Senior Programmer Analyst or Senior Systems Analyst level.

Increasingly responsible experience is defined as: 8 years of experience performing comprehensive computer system design, implementation and integration and 2 years of IT System Implementation project management experience are required.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate

Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and IBM Maximo experience
