In this Intermediate level position in the Water Quality Laboratory, you will be responsible for performing Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Specialists I job duties, and assist in the District’s technical analysis and development of applications, information technology (IT) data analytics and programming functions. You will work within the laboratory’s Quality Assurance and Compliance Sampling Team.

The position is responsible for assistance and support of Metropolitan’s Water Quality Laboratory applications following the software development life cycle (SDLC), including business technical analysis using the Metropolitan’s IT Standards and Tools, development of LIMS applications and programs, data management efforts, and development of a centralized water quality compliance data management program using various data sources; and help develop and maintain applications using standard programming languages (C# with Oracle database), SQL, .NET environment.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience.

Relevant Experience is defined as: experience with software development, programming, business process and system analysis; knowledge and experience with MS Office Suites and database applications; education and training within the areas of computer Science, information technology, and computer information systems.

Required Skills and Abilities to: Learn new programming and automation software; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task; communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; work independently and in a team environment; supporting applications; and operate current office equipments including printers and computers.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
