The Water System Operations Group, Water Treatment Section has three (3) openings for an Instrumentation and Control Technician I at our Weymouth Water Treatment Plant located in La Verne, CA.
Positions at this level learn to apply basic skills in procedures, operations, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment appropriate to area of specialization; work assignments are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. Specific and detailed guidelines covering all aspects of the assignment are provided; work is in strict adherence to the guidelines; deviations must be authorized. The work consists of tasks that are clear cut and directly related.
These positions are accountable for performing routine maintenance, assisting in the installation of complex digital control systems; performing technical electronic, laboratory and field analysis; and repairing and modifying electronic instrumentation and control systems. These positions are responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems equipment and associated peripherals. This includes SCADA workstations, remote terminal units, data communication networks, and associated instrumentation throughout the areas of responsibility. Instrumentation includes pressure transducers, acoustic and magnetic flow meters, electric actuated control valves, tank level gauging systems, and water quality instrumentation such as turbidimeters, chlorine analyzers, ammonia analyzers, particle counters, ph analyzers, and other related instruments.
The duties for these positions include, but are not limited to: perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks; assist journey level technicians on projects, special assignments, and equipment and system modifications; install, maintain and repair industrial electronic/electrical peripherals; install, maintain and repair electronic/electrical equipment, including pressure transducers, acoustic and magnetic flow members, electrical actuated control valves, tank level gauging systems, and water quality instrumentation, including turbidimeters, chlorine analyzers, ammonia analyzers, particle counters, ph analyzers, and other related instruments; and install, maintain and repair communications systems (LAN, WAN, telephone).
Work Schedule: 4/10; Monday-Thursday (Tuesday-Friday when needed).

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or certificate of High School equivalency and completion of 15 semester units in electronics from an accredited college, university, vocational, or military school.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
Vision Requirements: Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
