The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California seeks an Ethics Officer. Under the general administrative direction of Metropolitan’s Audit and Ethics Committee of the Board, the Ethics Officer is responsible for promoting and ensuring a robust and enduring ethical culture at Metropolitan.
Under the general administrative direction of Metropolitan’s Audit and Ethics Committee of the Board, the Ethics Officer is responsible for promoting and ensuring a robust and enduring ethical culture at Metropolitan. The Ethics Office will continue to foster and maintain strong ethics programs that include, but are not limited to, the provision of ethics education and the direction of policies, programs and activities related to the administration and enforcement of Metropolitan’s ethics and conflict of interest rules. This position and its organization are responsible for making an independent determination on whether to investigate a complaint and for the conclusions for each investigation.
As a direct report to the Board of Directors, the Ethics Officer is able to fulfill the responsibilities of the role in an unbiased manner that is free of conditions that would threaten its independence or objectivity, while still remaining ultimately accountable to the Board of Directors. The Ethics Officer currently manages and supervises a total staff of four that includes managers, professionals, paraprofessional, and administrative support staff.
