Position Description:

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing and completing multiple projects from start to finish. They are active in establishing and maintaining client relationships, attending public meetings and in the marketing of G&A’s Environmental and other services. The Project Manager also directs junior level staff. 

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Market, sell and cross-sell professional services for all disciplines and office locations
  • Establish new and maintain existing relationships with clients, subcontractors, etc.
  • Attend required project meetings
  • Initiate and manage project documentation
  • Develop proposals and negotiate contracts including scope, schedule and cost
  • Provide hydrogeologic and geologic practice in the areas of environmental assessments, remedial investigations, hydrogeologic monitoring, and groundwater supply development.
  • Prepare federal and state regulatory permit applications
  • Perform desktop evaluations, field reconnaissance, and subsurface investigations
  • Manage the financial aspects of projects; invoicing and collections
  • Perform project risk management
  • Interact with federal, state & local government agencies and officials
  • Compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and complex reports
  • Communicate technical information to those with and without technical understanding
  • Prepare and conduct effective presentations
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Proactive and responsive communication with clients

 

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or related area
  • Licensed Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania or equivalent project management experience
  • 8+ years of experience in hydrogeology and environmental investigations

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Project management experience
  • Experience with managing support staff
  • Organized and detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters and complex reports and to orally communicate technical information to others in public presentations
  • Ability to interact with Federal, State & Local government agencies and officials
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
  • Able to perform in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision making  
  • Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions

  • Proficiency in field methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD.

 

Essential Position Requirements:

  • Occasional regional travel required – possible overnight
  • Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required
  • Must have working vehicle
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs. of equipment
  • Ability to walk through brush, up hills, etc.
  • Attendance at professional seminars and networking events
