Position Description:
The Project Geologist executes technical work assignments, manages projects from start to finish, and handles the day-to-day tasks that accompany completion of projects. They may take an active role with clients and in meetings, and may also direct junior level staff.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assist with marketing, selling and cross-selling professional services for all disciplines and office locations
- Assist Project Manager to establish new and maintain existing relationships with clients, subcontractors, etc.
- Attend required project meetings
- Provide hydrogeologic and geologic practice in the areas of environmental assessments, remedial investigations, hydrogeologic monitoring, and groundwater supply development.
- Prepare Federal and State regulatory permit applications
- Perform site investigations, construction observation and field reconnaissance
- Prioritize and manage multiple clients/projects
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or related area
- Licensed Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania
- 8-12 years of experience in hydrogeology, environmental investigations and related fields.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Some experience with overseeing and training support staff
- Organized and detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters and complex reports and to orally communicate technical information to others in public presentations
- Proficiency in field methods
- Ability to interact with Federal, State & Local government agencies and officials
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
- Able to perform in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision making
- Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD preferred.
Essential Position Requirements:
- Occasional regional travel required – possible overnight
- Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required
- Must have working vehicle
- Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs. of equipment
- Ability to walk through brush, up hills, etc.
- Attendance at professional seminars and networking events
