Position Description:

The Project Geologist executes technical work assignments, manages projects from start to finish, and handles the day-to-day tasks that accompany completion of projects. They may take an active role with clients and in meetings, and may also direct junior level staff. 

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with marketing, selling and cross-selling professional services for all disciplines and office locations
  • Assist Project Manager to establish new and maintain existing relationships with clients, subcontractors, etc.
  • Attend required project meetings
  • Provide hydrogeologic and geologic practice in the areas of environmental assessments, remedial investigations, hydrogeologic monitoring, and groundwater supply development.
  • Prepare Federal and State regulatory permit applications
  • Perform site investigations, construction observation and field reconnaissance
  • Prioritize and manage multiple clients/projects

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or related area
  • Licensed Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania
  • 8-12 years of experience in hydrogeology, environmental investigations and related fields.

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Some experience with overseeing and training support staff
  • Organized and detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters and complex reports and to orally communicate technical information to others in public presentations
  • Proficiency in field methods
  • Ability to interact with Federal, State & Local government agencies and officials
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
  • Able to perform in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision making  
  • Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD preferred.

 

Essential Position Requirements:

  • Occasional regional travel required – possible overnight
  • Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required
  • Must have working vehicle
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs. of equipment
  • Ability to walk through brush, up hills, etc.
