Summary

This position assists in managing the Company’s internal and external reporting requirements including the preparation and ownership of many key schedules that support the company’s filings, as well as compliance requirements for international facilities.  This position also researches complex accounting issues and assists with the development of corporate position memorandums.  Additionally, this position works with other departments and develops key process improvements. Finally, this position analyzes company results and assists in publishing of the Company’s internal management reports.
 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares and reviews work schedules prepared by the Financial Reporting Analyst and other work papers in support of financial statement and MD&A disclosures
  • Responsible for the consolidation of the Company’s foreign subsidiaries’ operations including detailed and analytical review to ensure accurate accounting under US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the overall consolidation of all controlled domestic and foreign subsidiaries.
  • Responsible for the overall completeness and accuracy of international consolidations and for reviewing financial sections of all compliance reporting related to foreign statutory reporting requirements.
  • Completes drafts of the company’s external reporting requirements in Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K, registration statements and other filings.
  • Manage the preparation of the supplemental schedule included in the Company’s quarterly earnings release.
  • Completes drafts of financial statements including notes and MD&A in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Co-manages the implementation of the Security Exchange Commission’s (SEC) XBRL reporting and assists with strategies related to changes in accounting requirements such as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Coordinates with Information Systems (IS) to improve and enhance financial data reporting techniques.
  • Works with other departments to implement key process improvements.
  • Assists CAO and Director of Accounting with publishing the company’s internal Flash reports and with analysis related to company domestic and international performance, as well as international internal reports
  • Responsible for mechanics of accounting of equity based compensation and assisting accounting for business combinations if applicable
  • Reviews financial sections of all compliance reporting identified including foreign statutory reporting requirements and assists in the development of corporate position memos on issues related to financial external reporting, generally accepted accounting principles, IFRS and SEC reporting requirements.
    • Assist with cost accounting analysis of subsidiary manufacturing process.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field along with the successful completion of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) status.
    • Ability to apply complex accounting and external financial reporting principles, identify and analyze accounting and financial reporting questions and develop solutions responsive to those questions, and coordinate the implementation of solutions, generally acquired through five (5) years of experience in a public accounting environment or related setting.
    • Experience with international operations including foreign exchange translations and compliance with IFRS under international statutory compliance requirements.
    • Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
    • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Recent SEC reporting experience or international consolidation
    • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures as demonstrated through relevant work experience required.
    • Hyperion or similar software application experience preferred.
    • Ability to work independently while meeting internal schedules and deadlines.
    • Able to pass a background investigation.
    • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
