Position Summary -

Cargill Meat Solutions has an exciting opportunity available for a Harvest Superintendent TRAINEE at its Dodge City, KS facility. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Harvest Superintendent TRAINEE. The successful candidate will be expected to learn processes necessary to manage reports on key area targets such as employee safety, turnover, department costs, customer satisfaction, yields and production.

Other accountabilities in this position might require: effective employee relations, adhering to annual budgets, work process improvement, downtime and follow up for process execution, and other duties as required. The most likely progression for this position is to become a Harvest Superintendent TRAINEE.


Principal Accountabilities -

Expectations of this position are to learn how to perform the following:
• Monitoring and enforcing all company safety and food safety policies and practices
• Develop strategies for operations of assigned area to include technical optimization of processes.
• Meeting yield, quality and product specification standards
• Collaborate with area supervisors to achieve business results
• Lead the Harvest team in the absence of the Harvest Superintendent (includes coaching, development and training of supervisor and general foreman teams)

Responsibilities listed above will account for the following:
50%-Yields and Floor Management (includes management of Harvest managerial team)
25%-Safety
15%-Training with Current Harvest Superintendent
10%-Labor Relations

Minimum Required Qualifications -


• Four Year college degree or (3+) years previous experience in Operations Supervision
• 2+ years of Management or Leadership experience (the ability to coach, and desire to maintain maximum results in the areas of Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Efficiencies, yields etc.)
• Knowledge of all applicable OSHA, USDA and Environmental laws and standards
• Advanced computer skills, to include Microsoft Office, Kronos, and PeopleSoft.
• Be adaptable to change, motivated, with excellent organizational and problem solving skills
• The ability to function in a fast paced environment with little direct supervision.
• The ability to interact with other departments and functions to obtain the best business results possible, including Maintenance, Technical Services, Accounting, Sanitation and Human Resources
• Ability to coach, train and develop General Foreman and Supervisor Roles

 

Preferred Qualifications -


• 4 year College degree (engineering, business administration, animal science or related field).
• Bilingual: English-Spanish
