Specific Responsibilities and Skills
• Build knowledge of and experience with Gilead Global Medical Affairs business capabilities, related solutions/systems, initially overseeing Tier2 support role, including applicable systems' ownership.
• Participate as a business systems analyst, in lifecycle management and roadmap investment and sustainment projects
• Remain current with evolving applicable regulations, codes, guidelines
• Liaison with vendors to assess solution offerings and to be able to engineer solutions for business needs
• Participate in Medical Affairs related Forums/events, as applicable
• Participate as the Medical Affairs SME, in other projects, as needed
• Ownership of applicable system processes and SOPs
• Responsible for Medical Affairs Capabilities delivery within IT portfolio
• Actively compliant with all applicable rules/regulations/governance, including GXP
• Willing to travel up to 20% of time
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
• Intimate Knowledge and experience with Medical Affairs Business Function and applicable systems/solutions
• Working experience with Interfacing solutions, cloud solutions and cloud vendor assessment
• Good understanding of Master Data management concepts & Analytics
• Experience working with business and other IT partners & operating within a governance framework, globally
• Experience as a business system analyst: ability to listen, understand, interpret business needs, help evolve business processes, anticipate current/future needs, and outline/plan/implement IT solutions
• Ability to partner with business facing IT team members and provide applicable IT subject matter expertise
• Ability and experience with facilitating and collaboratively participating in workshops
• Ability to work cross-functionally beyond Medical Affairs (e.g Business Conduct)
• Experience with systems Tier 2/3 support concepts
• Experience with other Enterprise systems and holistic understanding of silo-less business processes
• Excellent written, verbal communication, documentation and teamwork skills
• Excellent interpersonal and professional interaction skills
• Good data stewardship (understanding of secure and sensitive data, and related security concepts)
• Experience with vendor management
• 10+ years' experience in Life Sciences field
• Previous experience as Business Systems Analyst
Education & Experience
• 10+ years of relevant experience and BS in Computer Science/Engineering or
related fields or 8+ years of relevant experience plus MS degree.
