Amsted Rail - ASF is a 100 year old Spring Manufacturer seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Multi Craft technician. The Hammond Plant is a hot wound spring manufacturer with a proud 100 year history.
Job function/Purpose
The individual selected for this role will be expected to properly perform all types of electrical and mechanical work throughout the facility, such as installing repairing, welding, trouble shooting, inspect, and maintain all machines electrically and mechanically. The incumbent must be able to work from electrical and mechanical blue prints, sketches, diagrams, and operating manuals. Incumbent must also be able to work any shift, including overtime and weekend work.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position requirements
Knowledge of
Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the electrical trade; thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations pertaining to the electrical trade; computer logic and programing; inspection of, identification, and knowledge of all electrical distribution systems (24-12k volts); methods and practices followed in maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment; safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation and mechanical equipment.
Mathematical skill required
Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.
Tools and equipment used
Any and all tools necessary for repairs or installation of equipment or building such as, wrenches, drill press, hand tools or power tools, calipers, block and tackle, air press, hoist, cranes, forklifts man lift, rigging, safety equipment, locks, cables, welding machines, pipe threaders, grinders, insulated screw drivers, pipe wrenches, voltmeters, ammeter, Allen wrenches, socket set, wire stripers, and a oxy acetylene torch.
Multi craft mechanics are required to provide their own tools.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move more than 75 pounds.
