We supply solutions and services to more than 20 industries throughout the world and employ nearly 3000 people globally.  Our Lansing, Michigan location is growing rapidly and is in need of a CUSTOMER SUPPORT SPECIALIST to provide exceptional customer service to our external and internal customers.

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

Provide a professional and enthusiastic first point of contact for new and existing customers while establishing a friendly rapport.

Ask open-ended, probing questions to assist customers with proper application of our products by explaining product specifications to customers and making recommendations. May also recommend alternate products or solutions based on cost, availability or customer needs.

Educate customers on policies and procedures; anticipate delays and gather any additional information needed to increase customer satisfaction while fostering a sense of trust & confidence in our customer support staff.

Respond to requests for prices, quotations, products, literature, services and customer concerns including returns, shortages and adjustments.

Utilize order management skills and follow up to include obtaining all necessary customer information, finalizing details such as when, where and what equipment is required, select equipment from inventory and place order in the system accurately, organizing delivery and collections details for the orders.

Ensure customer satisfaction by interacting with production and/or shipping departments to meet customer expectations, determining availability of product or when product will be completed; also to include communication with sales and manufacturer’s representatives.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

    • Excellent communication skills combined with the desire to get the order right the first time
    • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively
    • Ability to work well on a team as well as work independently
    • Ability to manage high call volume and retain professional demeanor
    • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines while demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail
    • Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) sales tax processes and best practices
    • Previous experience in customer relationship support is required
    • High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree desired
    • Previous experience with ERP systems is beneficial
    • General knowledge of MS Office software applications (Word, Excel) is required
    • Mechanical or equipment related background is helpful
