IT SOFTWARE DEVELOPER I
The Metropolitan Water District currently has one (1) opening for an IT Software Developer I in the Enterprise Business System Unit of our Information Technology Section at our Headquarters Building in Los Angeles, CA.

SUMMARY
This is an entry level position performing Information Technology Software Developer I job duties. These duties will include working with database reporting tools, relational databases, and web programming.

JOB DUTIES
1. Defines, designs, develops, and deploys new or modified custom software that generates reports accessing one to four tables.
2. Defines, designs, develops, and deploys new or modified custom software utilizing database schema accessing up to four tables.
3. May participate on a project team.
4. Performs other related Information Technology Software Developer job duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

A Bachelor's degree in a related field is defined as a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or Software Engineering.

Required Knowledge of: Reporting tools concepts; relational database; Relational Data Base - Data Definition Language creating tables, indexes, views; Unified Modeling Language Concepts; Object Oriented Concepts; current office technology and equipment.

Required Skills and Abilities to: Produce reports, understand reporting tools and able to access tools; use vendor web published tutorial site; work with Database Management System tools and apply web and training tutorials; compile and navigate through vendor provided base class repository; familiar with accessing Object Oriented vendor web tutorials and training documentation; use independent judgment and exercise discretion; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task; communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; work independently and in a team environment; and operate current office equipment including computers and supporting applications.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid California Class C Driver License that allows you to drive in the course of your employment
