JOB SUMMARY
As a Senior Reprographics Technician with the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) you will lead, instruct, and train other reprographics professionals as you work with customers to ensure that the print production needs of MWD are being met in an exceptional manner.
You will be responsible for scanning and converting hard copy original files into digital files while using software to design templates that will capture and index the appropriate metadata within the files. This will also involve the operation, programming, and troubleshooting of various high speed and volume commercial digital reprographic equipment such as a color digital press, black and white publishing devices, and high volume wide format copier and scanner. You will perform finishing, bindery and packaging using equipment such as power cutters, automatic comb binding machine, padding machine, folder with right angle, stitching and thermal taping machines, power paper drills, and compact disc and digital video disk duplicators.
A few of your other responsibilities include planning and scheduling print production with customers; ordering and tracking production inventory; and overseeing data entry.
In addition to your technical proficiency, this role will allow you to display your attention to detail, analytical and problem solving ability, and customer service.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9/80 (Alternate Friday's Off)

JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education development test (GED) and six years of relevant experience; or two years in a MWD Reprographics Technician III classification.
Relevant experience defined as: Working experience completing production level printing and production level scanning jobs for customers.
Required Knowledge of: Commercial digital reprographic equipment and processes; related finishing equipment; graphics software; and current office technology and equipment.
Required Skills and Abilities to: Perform prepress functions; commercial digital reprographic equipment troubleshooting, maintenance and repair; recognize errors in jobs and make corrections; understand customer needs; propose creative solutions; use independent judgment and exercise discretion; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task; communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; work independently and in a team environment; lead and train; and operate current office equipment including computers and supporting applications.
License required: Valid California Class C Driver License or equivalent from your state of residency that allows you to drive in the course of your employment
