The Role

The Program Manager will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects within the engineering department. He/she will be accountable for the delivery of every project on time, within budget and scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects through all project phases
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project cost
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, specifications, federal and state regulations

REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Proven working experience as a project engineer
  • PMP Certification
  • Ability to execute multi-disciplinary projects requiring cross functional teams within the company
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills
  • Time management and organizational skills

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Heavy Duty automotive industry
  • Experience with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards in Heavy Duty automotive industry
  • Experience with design verification planning and reporting on components/systems
  • Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and countermeasure identification skills related to vehicle systems
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, 8D problem solving, Six Sigma, DFM/DFA and Lean Principles
Working knowledge of Workfront Project Management software or equivalent.
