Job Description

Gillig is looking for an Assembler to join its manufacturing team on first shift in Hayward California, soon to be moving to Livermore, California.  At least 6 months of previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. 

Job Summary:

Assembly person will be required to perform quality and timely assembly of needed components using fingers/hands, small hand tools or machinery.  

Job Knowledge Requirements:

  • Must be able to quickly assemble parts (nuts, stems and washer as an example)
  • Operates hand tools and small power tools to complete assembly
  • Understands and follows written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to communicate well with others

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Able to consistently and timely do repetitive action for duration of shift
  • Flexibility and dexterity with fingers and hands for manipulation of parts and components
  • Must be able to operate hand tools and other machining equipment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to use basic mathematics specifically addition and subtraction
  • Ability to follow basic instructions, understand and advise of non-conformance of operation
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs. consistently over the course of a shift
  • Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
