Position Description:
The Civil Designer will perform various assignments related to water/wastewater projects under the close supervision of a Project Manager and/or Project Engineer. Communicates and interacts with clients, client representatives, contractors and regulatory agencies.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Design water and wastewater systems utilizing CADD software
- Prepare reports and presentation materials
- Review design submissions for compliance with local requirements
- Interact with clients, contractors and regulatory agencies
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Sanitary or Environmental Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or ability to take the FE exam within 6 months
- 0 - 5 years of experience in areas of water/wastewater planning, investigations, sewer and water pipeline design, pump station and treatment plant design
- Must be able to perform civil design calculations
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Possesses working knowledge of office automation, CADD and engineering automation tools
- Comfortable in working well with a team, as well as being an individual performer
- Self-motivated to maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and governmental regulations and their potential application on client engagements
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and complex reports and to orally communicate technical information to those with and without technical understanding
- Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret complex statistical data
- Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD (preferably Civil 3D) and WaterCAD would be a plus
Essential Position Requirements:
- Occasional regional travel required
- Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required
