Position Description:
The Project Engineer will execute technical work assignments on municipal and land design projects individually or as part of a project team.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Prepare bid plans and specifications
- Review subdivision and land development plans for compliance with applicable municipal ordinances
- Perform capital improvement and land design, stormwater design and analysis, grading design and earthwork analysis
- Prepare Federal and State regulatory permit applications
- Compose letters, memoranda, reports, applications and studies
- Perform site investigations and field reconnaissance
- Project coordination with municipal staff, clients, attorneys, solicitors and residents
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or ability to take the FE exam within 6 months
- 0-10 years in civil engineering experience
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Organized and detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters and complex reports and to orally communicate technical information to others in public presentations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
- Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor
- Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions
- General knowledge of engineering principle
- Experience with Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD desired (preferably Civil 3D)
Essential Position Requirements:
- Occasional regional travel required
- Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required
