Job Summary
Our Brand Manager will be responsible for overseeing a defined portfolio of Benjamin Moore brands and generating strategies that grow market share and drive growth in a competitive coatings industry. Responsible for outlining the strategic plans that move innovative products from our labs to the shelves of our independent retailers. This role will have significant cross-functional interaction with many groups within Benjamin Moore & Co., inclusive of Supply Chain/Planning, Product Development, Finance, Creative Services and Regulatory Compliance team.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for translating brand strategies into brand plans in an effort to build awareness, and grow distribution
* Oversee market test development and national launch plans, sales projections, line extensions, developing product messaging, marketing campaigns, support materials and promotional activities
* Create new and innovative growth strategies
* Monitor market trends and research external market activities to identify opportunities and issues
* Works collaboratively with cross-functional departments including Research and Development, Production Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Legal and other Marketing partners including Consumer Engagement team, Creative Services, Digital, and Web Services
* Responsible for identifying and act upon key performance indicators
* Align the company around the brand’s direction, choices and tactics
* Work directly with our sales team and other constituents to define new opportunities
* Develop key selling tools for our end user segments
* Develop promotional initiatives designed to support our sales team and drive incremental growth within the channel
* Work to develop Associate Brand Manager and support the achievement of their career objectives
Required Skills:
* 5-8 years progressive marketing experience with 3-5 years of focused product or brand management experience
* Bachelor’s Degree, MBA Preferred
* Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting both within the marketing function, within the company, and with external agencies and customers
* Thrives in a team oriented environment, with collaborative approach to getting things done
* Strong communication and presenting skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, with outstanding execution skills with a strong attention to detail
* Outstanding analytical and software skills, in particular PowerPoint and Excel
* Demonstrated leadership skills though coaching and mentoring
* Ability to bring new ideas and approaches while keeping an eye on marketplace trends and product improvement
* Ability to travel to our Product Development facility in Flanders, NJ approximately twice per month and the ability to travel to retailers and sales meetings
* Budget-management skills and proficiency
* Knowledge of SAP a plus
