Job Summary
Benjamin Moore & Co, a world-class leader in paint products and color, is currently looking for an energetic leader to join the IT team and lead a newly formed Application Development organization. Reporting to the CIO, the person will have the opportunity to define and shape the organization which will provide service and support to all internal customers. A broad range of technology skills and experience is required including Oracle, Informatica, CRM, analytics/reporting, data warehouse, web development (java and .net), custom development, and software product development.

In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities of building and managing the team, the Director will have the responsibility to collaborate, create and execute a multi-year application roadmap. As part of the IT Leadership Team, this person will also have the opportunity to drive significant business value through successful delivery of planned initiatives.

Responsibilities:
* Assess standards for application development and define best in class development standards, methodologies and policies to address the rapidly growing business requirements and environment complexity while managing security risk
* Work closely with the Architecture, Business Relationship Managers, the IT PMO and others to execute the application roadmap
* Responsible for the delivery of the programs and initiatives (within budget and on time) associated with the defined strategy and roadmap
* Manage the application development and support team including assessing skills, managing and mentoring the team
* Manage a newly formed Quality Assurance Team of three people
* Ensure application operations are running optimally following industry standards for efficiency and optimization
* Has financial responsibility for application operations as well as outlining the cost and ROI for the application strategy and working closely with the business to gain agreement on corporate investments for applications

Required Skills:
* Extensive experience in standard and custom software development and out of the box configuration and implementation
* Previous experience in software design, documentation and development methodologies
* Extensive hands on solution design and implementation through to production support and/or retirement
* Experience delivering reporting / analytics solutions to business users
* Maintains currency in emerging industry and process best practices and technology enablers
* Demonstrated cross-functional teamwork and collaboration
* Understanding of software maintenance lifecycles
* Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
* Effective written communication and presentation skills
* Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years’ experience
* Manufacturing industry experience a strong plus
