This Supervisory Intelligence Operations Specialist position is located in the Threat Analysis Division, Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected for this position, you will serve as the Branch Manager assigned to the Current Analysis Branch. You will be responsible for directing the activities in two subordinate sections: Current Intelligence, which monitors multiple information sources regarding ongoing and emerging transportation threats and develops reports and briefings on findings; and Targeting and Advanced Analytics, which uses advanced analytical tools in its analysis and monitors multiple information sources on current and emerging threats and develops strategies to mitigate potential threats. Typical assignments include but are not limited to:

• Reviewing and recommending approval of plans, reports, and analyses relating to indications and warnings concerning threats to national transportation security.
• Working with the Intelligence Community to develop detailed analysis and conclusions that can be used by senior level executives in their decision making processes.
• Managing subordinate staff providing ongoing feedback regarding performance and progress toward meeting OIA and threat Analysis Division priorities and objectives.
• Developing, designing and directing the implementation of program evaluations to determine effective and efficient practices. Establishing management controls over program activities; providing a means for evaluating program accomplishments; and correcting program deficiencies.

To qualify for the SV-K Pay Band (equivalent to GS-15), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-J Pay Band or GS-14 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience includes applying intelligence and analytical processes to perform and oversee all-source analyses of current and emerging threats to transportation security; maintaining situational awareness of ongoing threats and intelligence issues; and working with key intelligence community organizations to develop and maintain communications.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

NOTE: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
